Self Study Courses

Students are encouraged to enroll for self study courses to widen the scope of inputs received. The college provides mentoring by way of making students aware of courses that they can pursue. Guidance is provided regarding the learning outputs that these courses may require. 

2022-23
Students participated in a course by IBM on Mindfulness. The course was part on an initiative for women empowerment. Students also completed courses by CIET and a course on Artificial Intelligence by CBSE and Intel as part of Digital India initiatives. 

2021-22
Students participated in online training programmes and  workshops conducted by Central Institute of Educational Technology(CIET) New Delhi on Digital Tools for Teaching, Learning and Assessment of Specfic Subjects (May 2022), Game based Learning (June 2022). They have also completed a course in Artificial Intelligence prepared by CBSE and Intel. 

2020-21
1. Ten students  of S.Y.B.Ed and one faculty member completed a MOOC on Blended Learning Practice offered jointly by the Commonwealth of Learning and Athabasca University, Canada. the course was conducted  from 12 July to 8 August 2020.

2. Students attended a four day Faculty Development Programme on Training Teachers for Articifical Intelligence in Schools. This programme was organised by  Machine Intelligence Research Labs, USA in collaboration with Bombay Teachers'  Training College from 18 to 21 November 2020. Students learned many interesting aspects related to Machine Learning, Artifical Intelligence, introduction to Data Sciences and AI for Content Development. 

3. F.Y.B.Ed students completed the Course 'Educational Needs of DifferentlyAbled Learners' hosted on Open Learn Create. 


2019-20

MOOC on Introduction to Technology Enabled Learning by Commonwealth of Learning and Athabasca University 

In October -November 2019 students of S.Y.B.Ed successfully completed a five week long Massive Open Online Course on 'Introduction to Technology Enabled Learning' conducted by Commonwealth of Learning and Athabasca University, Canada through the mooKIT platform at http://mooc4dev.org. Students had the opportunity to interact with the mentors Professor Martha Cleveland-Innes Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Athabasca University through videos and online discussion forum. It was a great learning experience to become aware of TIPS Framework, TPACK Model, OERs and other avenues of technology in education. As part of the course, students submitted lesson plans for technology enabled classrooms and posted their views on different topics on the forum. 

MOOCs attended by students in April and May 2020
Students made effective use of the lockdown period and upgraded themselves by completing the following MOOCs:
(i) Course on 'Educational Needs of Differently abled Learners' created by Dr Agnes Dcosta on OpenLearn Create. This course was also completed by B.Ed students of other institutions. 
(ii)  Course on Flipped Learning organised under the Open Education for a Better World Initiative conducted on canvas.instructure   and led by Dr Batavia of Thakur College of Education and Research
(iii) One student completed a course on designing Flexible Learning under the Open Education for a Better World initiative
