International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was observed on 21 June 2021. Our student Ms Riya Dcunha was the Resource Person. After a very informative assembly on Yoga and its benefits, Ms Riya conducted a session where students participated and practised various asanas and pranayam.
Two day workshop on Activity Based Online Learning
On 3 July 2021, the college organised a workshop for teachers on the theme 'Activity Based Online Learning.' The workshop organised in collaboration with Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education(HBCSE), Mumbai was visualised by Principal Dr Mabel Pimenta and coordinated by faculty members Dr Agnes Dcosta and Ms Nikita Rebello. More than 70 teachers from different institutions in Maharashtra benefitted from the session. Resource Person Dr Narendra Deshmukh, Scientific Officer at HBCSE led the participants to discover the nuances of the TPACK Model propogated by Lee Shulman. Sir also emphasized that teachers must be aware of the close connect between content, technology and pedagogy to help students learn collaboratively and in a constructivist manner. The next session by Ms Nikita Rebello Gomes helped participants explore the wonders of virtual reality and hands on learning in the online scenario. She also showed how teachers can create their own 360 degree virtual tours , images with hotspots and simple formative evaluation using H5P tools.
On 10 July 2021 the second day of the workshop, we had Ms Veda Deshpande orient the participants to various interesting websites and tools that could be used to enhance critcal thinking. Ms Alisha Andrades demonstrated how to use Wordwall for fun filled interactive evaluation. She also showed how to use Thinglink to have a repository of interactive experiences.

sixty enthusiastic teachers of St. Joseph's Convent High School, Khadki
participated in an online workshop to learn about various platforms that could
be used to ensure dynamic learning. The programme was coordinated by Principal
Sr Teresa. Dr Resource person Dr. Agnes DCosta helped the teachers to explore Wordwall,Story jumper, Padlet and other websites like Toy Theater and Olabs that would bring an element of interest in learning.

Expert Lecture on Exploring History Through Coins
Coins come with a story of their own. These stories help us connect to the times when they were minted. Mr Pascal Lopes, who holds a Masters Degree in Numismatic and Archeology helped us understand the rich history embedded in a coin. In the interactive session conducted by Mr Lopes on 6 Sept 2021, he helped us realise that coins are not merely a medium of exchange, rather they are the overlooked keys to history. Mr Lopes also showed us many ancient coins from his collection and demystified history by tracing the evolution of coins from the BCE times till today. An inspiring and enriching session indeed!

Panel Discussion on Different Boards of Education
The panel discussion on 'Understanding the Different Boards of Education' held on 7 Sept 2021 helped students to gain a thorough understanding of the curricula followed by different boards, the assessment patterns followed and also helped to analyse the learner profiles of students. Mr Anthony Dias teacher at Campion High School Mumbai spoke about the ICSE Board, Ms Audrey Carvalho teacher at D.S.B International School threw light on the International Baccalaureate system and Ms Vilfrena DMello expounded the IGCSE system. Students interacted and discussed various facets of the different Boards.

Session on National Education Policy 2020
On 22 September, Dr Agnes DCosta gave a lecture on the National Education Policy 2020. She explained the various recommendations and the relevance of the document in the changing educational landscape. The emphasis on technology enabled learning, equity in education and teacher quality were duly emphasized. The session was attended by the faculty and students. A discussion was held and at the end students particpated in a quiz on NEP.

Workshop on Communication Skills
Effective Communication is the heart of the teaching learning process. During the workshop on 'Effective Communication Skills' Ms Avani Rashne, an expert in phonics and grammar, interacted with the students to explore what effective communication comprises of. Ms Rashne used a unique approach where instead of explanation she just had the participants interact and communicate so that all facets of effective communication were spontaneously revealed through their answers. The session was skilfully handled through a blend of probing, discussion, sharing and activities.

On 1st October Board of Studies in Education (Universiy of Mumbai) and MES Pillai's College of Education and Research, Chembur organised a colloquium on Best Practices in VENTEL(Vocational Education, Nai Talim and Experiential Learning). Our students Ms Sanika Asolkar and Ms Pallavi Dalmet presented the Best Practice 'Nurture Nature, Secure Your Future' . Ms Sybella Andrades and Ms Suzanne DMello presented the Best Practice 'AMRIT Approach for showcasing Indian Culture through VENTEL Activities' .

Workshop cum Mentoring Session on Teacher Eligibility Test(TET)
On 2 Oct 2021, Dr Cindrella DMello(Associate Professor, St Teresa's Institute of Education, Santacruz) and Dr Agnes DCosta conducted a session for the alumni on the topic 'Preparing for TET'. They elucidated how the nature of the questions in the TET and shared some tips on preparing for the TET. Dr Sheetal Chaudhari,Faculty in charge of Alumni Association also interacted wiht the participants.

Workshop on Life Skills Education: Managing Stress
A Session on Stress Management was conducted on 11 October 2021 by Ms Sarla Lobo. She discussed causes of stress, explored ways to deal with stress and emphasized the need to handle stress wisely. She also had small demonstrations to show how stress can be detrimental to one's well being. Ms Sarla motivated the participants to strike a right work-life balance and employ strategies to handle stress with equanimity.
PrePlacement Activities by Pushpajyot Placement Cell
The Placement Cell organised a session on 'Writing of CV' . Dr Agnes DCosta conducted the session on 25 Jan and elucidated the contents of a CV. On 27 Jan CA Priya DCosta conducted as session on 'Creating One's LinkedIn Profile'. The finer aspects of a Linked InProfile were explained.
21 Feb 2022 -Workshop on Puppet Making
A workshop on Puppet Making was conducted on 21 Feb 2022. Our students Ms Glanita Dsouza, Ms Relcy Colaco and Ms Pranali Lopes were the resource persons and they demonstrated how to make sock puppets, paper bag puppets and puppets with clothes clips. More varieties of puppets like glove puppets , stick puppets and finger puppets were shown. Students then made their own puppets and used them during their lessons.
